High Park Cherry Blossoms (Sakura) 2014!

Sorry for the long absence! I have been busy trying to complete an online course in addition to working long hours!

On Thursday morning, I went to High Park to see the sakura in full bloom.

It was a cloudy day, but the views were still achingly beautiful.

“The Cherry Tree is a joyful symbol of life.”

The blossoms are a reminder that no matter how hard the winter, or how long it endures, spring (and LIFE!)  is due to return with all its beauty.

I also came across this gigantic magnolia tree in full blossom.

Apple blossoms are beautiful as well.

Serenity can be found here.

Can you see her? She had a nest under some nearby bushes.

Signs of new life were everywhere.

This is a one-week old reindeer out of her enclosure for a visit. She was so small!

She was very friendly and gave me a nuzzle! 🙂 Her fur was so soft!

Another baby was seen over at the West Highland Cattle pen. This one is three weeks old.

It got really excited when the zookeeper showed up with the morning’s grain. It kept running around while making happy little jumps and kicks in the air.

If you go to High Park this week, you will still be able to see the blossoms. After this week, they will probably be gone until next year.

The baby reindeer and calf will last a little longer 😉

Here are some other beautiful sights I saw that morning:
